Duck, duck, goose

One of these things is not like the other. Incidentally, this is the same house that had a lone toilet out on November 14. But it’s definitely not the same toilet (you learn to spot the subtle differences). November 24, 2009: Madison, WI.

Cardboard toilet

Not trash; rather, the pride of someone’s collection. This is a cold-war era disposable toilet designed for use in a bomb shelter, displayed at the Milwaukee Public Museum by a collector of cold war relics. November 20, 2009: Milwaukee, WI.

The collector was incredibly proud that all of the contents were intact, including the plastic seat, which is apparently absent or damaged in most specimens from this era.

I’m categorizing this as a Live Toilet, despite its age, because it’s neither trash nor yard art…

Half bath, half toilet

Autumn sunshine. November 14, 2009: Madison, WI.

Barely a block away, a whole bathroom, but with only half the toilet.

We went back later, but never did see the toilet bowl itself come out. Maybe they kept it?
